The present invention makes it possible for an operator to easily recognize a construction surface without receiving or pre-storing 3D data corresponding to a working site from the outside. A work assistance device (1) is provided with a main body coordinate information acquisition unit (53), a main body orientation information acquisition unit (54), a work member position information acquisition unit (55), a specific site coordinate calculation unit (502), an arrangement information reception unit and distance information input unit (52), a construction surface calculation unit (503), a storage unit (505), and a construction information output unit (506). A specific site coordinate calculation unit (502) is capable of calculating absolute coordinates of a specific site of the work member (41) on the basis of the acquisition information from each acquisition unit. A construction surface calculation unit (503) calculates and determines an equation of a construction surface (TS) in an absolute coordinate system of a work site on the basis of absolute coordinates of three ground reference points in which the specific site is sequentially arranged and three pieces of distance information indicating the distance between the ground reference points and the construction surface (TS).
