The invention relates to plastering gypsum and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials. The plastering gypsum comprises the following components in parts by weight: 60-90 parts of a fluorgypsum cementing material, 0-10 parts of a light filler, 0.1-0.4 part of a water-retaining agent, 0.5-1.5 parts of a water reducing agent, 0.1-0.5 part of a defoaming agent, 0.01-0.05 part of an air entraining agent and 0-35 parts of other components, and the light filler comprises at least one of glass beads, wood fibers, PP fibers or perlite. The other material comprises at least one of light calcium carbonate, building gypsum, tailing sand, river sand or artificially prepared sand, and the sum of the other material and the light filler is not equal to 0. The invention provides the plastering gypsum produced by using the fluorgypsum, the plastering gypsum is high in strength, small in shrinkage rate, green, environment-friendly and pollution-free, and a new way is opened up for resource utilization of the fluorgypsum.
