The invention discloses a tool cabinet and a working method thereof. The tool cabinet comprises a cabinet group, a cabinet door sensor, a cabinet door state keeping device, a master controller and a lock control device. The cabinet group comprises a main cabinet and an auxiliary cabinet, the main cabinet and the auxiliary cabinet comprise cabinet walls and cabinet doors which can be opened and closed, the cabinet door sensor is used for sensing the opening and closing states of the cabinet doors, the cabinet door state keeping device is used for keeping the opening and closing states of the cabinet doors, the master controller comprises a man-machine interaction unit, an identity recognition unit and an overtime timer, and the overtime timer is used for triggering a locking program. The lock control device comprises a lock, a lock controller and a tool detection device, and the tool detection device feeds detection information back to the master controller to trigger the overtime timer to work. If the user does not open all the cabinet doors, the overtime timer feeds back information to the master controller to control all the locks to be closed; if the cabinet door is opened and then closed, the overtime timer feeds back information to the master controller, and locks of all the cabinets without the cabinet door being opened are controlled to be closed.
