The invention relates to a method for controlled loading with a self-propelled work vehicle and a self-propelled work vehicle. The self-propelled work vehicle includes at least one work accessory movable relative to the main frame for loading and unloading material in a loading area external to the work vehicle, and a grounding unit supporting the main frame. A position input of the loading area relative to the main frame and/or at least one work accessory is detected using at least one detector (e.g., a camera and/or a vehicle motion sensor). A trigger input associated with a transition of the work vehicle from the first operating state to an automatic second operating state is detected. In the second working state, the movement of the main frame and/or the at least one work accessory relative to a defined reference associated with the loading area is at least automatically controlled. Such systems and methods facilitate loading operations, thus improving productivity regardless of operator experience.
