The invention discloses a preparation method of high-purity hydrogen, and belongs to the technical field of hydrogen preparation, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing a ceramic membrane reactor which comprises a catalytic reaction layer, an anode, a ceramic membrane and a cathode which are connected in sequence; low-concentration coal bed gas is prepared, the low-concentration coal bed gas comprises methane, oxygen and nitrogen, the volume concentration of the methane is 5-30%, and the volume concentration ratio of the methane to the oxygen is larger than 2; the anode and the catalyst layer are reduced, low-concentration coal bed gas and dry nitrogen are introduced into the catalytic reaction layer and the cathode respectively, and high-purity hydrogen is generated at the temperature of 650-750 DEG C in an external voltage mode. Low-concentration coal bed gas is used as fuel, synthesis gas is dissociated into protons through external voltage, the protons are transmitted to a cathode through a ceramic membrane, hydrogen is generated under the action of a catalyst after the protons are transmitted to the cathode, original nitrogen is discharged through the generated hydrogen, and therefore high-purity hydrogen is prepared.
