The invention relates to a sliding door and window with a sealing mechanism and a sealing method thereof.The sliding door and window comprises a fixed frame, two or more sliding sashes arranged in the fixed frame and the sealing mechanism, and the sealing mechanism comprises a sealing partition plate which is arranged on the fixed frame and extends towards the interior of the fixed frame; the sealing frames are arranged on sash frames of the sliding sashes and can be driven by the driving mechanism to stretch out and draw back front and back. The sliding door and window has the advantages that the sealing frame assembly is light in structure, labor-saving in operation and high in safety; the sealing of two or more sliding sashes which can be freely pushed and pulled can be realized; and better sealing performance can be provided.
