The invention discloses a light combined box girder structure which comprises a steel box girder and a UHPC top plate laid on the top of the steel box girder, the steel box girder comprises a closed steel shell with a through inner cavity and a plurality of partition plates arranged in the closed steel shell, the UHPC top plate is fixedly connected to the top face of the closed steel shell, and a shearing force connecting piece embedded in the UHPC top plate is arranged on the closed steel shell. The invention further discloses a construction method thereof. By means of the steel box girder formed by the closed steel shell and the multiple partition plates welded in the closed steel shell, the geometric size of a component can be remarkably reduced, the self weight of the structure is reduced, connection is extremely firm, and the structural strength is high; the steel box girder can serve as a supporting formwork during pouring of the UHPC top plate, the defects of conventional pouring can be avoided, the bearing capacity and the structural anti-fatigue performance are high, the connecting strength of the UHPC top plate and the steel box girder can be remarkably improved through the shearing force connecting pieces, the overall stress capacity is high, the manufacturing process of the combined box girder structure is simplified, and the production cost is reduced.
