The invention relates to an ecological slope protection method for cuttage of shrub pads, which comprises the following steps of: planting shrubs on a slope bank, pressing the shrubs on the slope bank in the upslope direction of the slope bank and fixing the shrubs, so that the slope bank is fully paved with the shrubs, and the invention further relates to an ecological slope bank suitable for the ecological slope protection method. According to the method, the slope bank is fully paved with the shrubs, namely, a protective layer is added to the slope surface of the slope bank, trunks, stems and leaves of the shrubs are close to the slope surface and are fixed through the timber piles, the overall structure is stable, slope surface soil can be effectively stabilized, scouring of rainwater and surface runoff to the slope surface is weakened, the stability of the slope bank is improved, and the onset time of soil fixation and slope protection can be shortened; with the growth of the shrubs, root systems gradually develop, and the shrubs grow into mature and complete plants, the stability of the slope bank can be further enhanced, water and soil loss is avoided, the landscape effect is improved, and the environment is beautified.
