The invention provides a translation type platform door system which is characterized in that at least two parallel and adjacent rails are arranged, each rail is provided with at least one door body, a moving mechanism and a driving mechanism connected with the moving mechanism are arranged in the rails, and the moving mechanism is slidably connected with the rails; the driving mechanism is used for driving the moving mechanism to drive the door bodies to reciprocate along the rails, and every two adjacent door bodies form a door leaf capable of being opened and closed. According to the system, a fixed side box structure is replaced by the movable door bodies, opening and closing of the platform doors are achieved through mutual movement of the multiple door bodies on the different rails and staggering or overlapping or spacing of the adjacent door bodies, the opening positions of the platform doors can be adjusted at will, the opening degree between the platform doors can be adjusted at will, and therefore the platform doors can be conveniently opened and closed. The platform door is more flexible and light, the occupied space of the platform is reduced, and the taking and landing requirements of different vehicles are met.
