The invention provides a tail gate control method. The tail gate control method comprises the steps that the current state of a tail gate is obtained; obtaining a first tail gate control parameter, wherein the first tail gate control parameter is obtained through detection of a capacitive sensor; determining the category of the first tail gate control parameter; and controlling the state of the tail gate according to the category and the current state of the tail gate. By means of the method, when each user kicks the tail door to open/close, the standard kicking action is not needed, and the electric tail door can be opened or closed only by kicking according to personal habits. Meanwhile, according to the method, kicking action data of the user can be continuously collected, algorithm parameters are updated, the accuracy of model prediction is continuously improved, and better electric tail door opening or closing experience is brought to the user.
