The purpose of the present invention is to suitably produce a dense sintered ceramic body. This method for producing a sintered ceramic body comprises a step for heat-treating a ceramic molded body, which is a molded body of a ceramic powder, under a first condition, and a step for heat-treating the ceramic molded body heat-treated under the first condition, under a second condition having a pressure higher than that of the first condition, and a step for producing a sintered ceramic body by heat-treating the molded ceramic body, which has been heat-treated under the second condition, under a third condition having a higher pressure than the second condition.
