A method for producing a porous ceramic sintered body, the method comprising: a step for obtaining a ceramic article by molding a ceramic powder having a tap density of 1.0 g/cm3 or less; a step for obtaining a laminate by forming a layer containing a carbon powder on the surface of the ceramic article; and a step for irradiating the surface of the carbon-containing powder layer of the laminate with laser light to form a porous ceramic sintered part.
