The invention discloses a green building outer wall which comprises a planting box and an outer wall body, the outer wall body is fixed to the outer vertical face of a wallboard, the planting box and the outer wall body are fixedly connected, domestic water or rainwater enters a water tank through a first water hole, a floating ball moves upwards to block the first water hole through buoyancy, and the planting box is fixed to the outer wall body. The maximum displacement position of the floating ball is matched with the bottom end of the first water hole, and the water receiving plate is used for guiding water flowing in the water pipe into the first water hole. According to the green building outer wall, a floating ball structure is arranged in the water tank, a water adding channel of the water tank is automatically blocked by utilizing buoyancy when the water amount reaches the maximum degree, excessive irrigation and waste of water resources are avoided, meanwhile, rainwater can be effectively collected by utilizing a collecting box, and the environment is protected. Meanwhile, the collecting box can be used for achieving the purposes of supplementing light to the green plants below and preventing heavy rain impact.
