The invention discloses a steel bridge deck pavement system and a construction method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: S1, dividing a steel bridge deck pavement system into a main bridge deck and an approach bridge deck; s2, the main bridge deck is divided into six steel panels, and the following construction procedures are carried out: shear nail welding, reinforcing mesh laying, and ultra-high performance concrete pouring and maintenance; s3, laying a main bridge deck wearing layer; s4, dividing the approach bridge surface into a first approach bridge surface and a second approach bridge surface, and carrying out the following construction procedures: carrying out pouring construction on concrete anti-collision walls on two sides of the approach bridge surface, welding shear nails, laying a reinforcing mesh, and pouring and curing ultra-high performance concrete; s5, laying a first approach bridge wearing layer; and S6, laying a second approach bridge wearing layer. According to the method, the steel bridge deck pavement system can be reasonably processed, the construction period requirement is met, the compressive strength, the shear strength and the fatigue resistance of the pavement layer can be improved, and it is guaranteed that the pavement layer does not flow and is subjected to stress distribution in the pouring process so that the thickness of the pavement layer can be guaranteed.
