The invention discloses a straightness adjusting device for a traveling track of a traveling crane and an adjusting method of the straightness adjusting device. The straightness adjusting device comprises a bottom plate, a fastening assembly, a first adjusting assembly and a second adjusting assembly, the fastening assembly is used for locking the bottom of the track on the bottom plate and locking the bottom plate on the track beam, and the first adjusting assembly is used for applying first horizontal thrust to the track in the direction perpendicular to the length direction of the track. The second adjusting assembly is used for applying second horizontal thrust to the track in the direction perpendicular to the length direction of the track, and the direction of the first horizontal thrust is opposite to the direction of the second horizontal thrust. The first adjusting assembly and the second adjusting assembly are used for applying horizontal thrust from the two sides of the track so as to adjust the straightness of the track to a proper value, meanwhile, after adjustment is completed, the first adjusting assembly and the second adjusting assembly are locked, horizontal supporting force can be provided for the track, limiting in the horizontal direction is achieved, and the situation that the track deviates is reduced.
