Provided is a door opener for a vehicle, the door opener being capable of reliably switching a latch mechanism of a door lock device to an unlatched state even when the operation speed of a user is fast. A vehicle door opening device (20) is provided with an electronic latch ECU (24) that switches a latch mechanism from a latched state to an unlatched state when an operation of an unlatched switch (132) outside a vehicle compartment is detected, and unlatches the latch mechanism from the latched state to the unlatched state when the operation of the unlatched switch (132) outside the vehicle compartment is detected. When an operation on the exterior unlocking switch (132) is detected and an operation on the exterior lock sensor (131) is detected until a predetermined time elapses from the detection of the operation, the latch mechanism is switched from the latched state to the unlatched state. The latch mechanism is maintained in a latched state when an operation on the exterior unlocking switch (132) is detected and an operation on the exterior lock sensor (131) is not detected until a predetermined time elapses since the detection of the operation.
