The novel energy dissipation and seismic mitigation foundation structure of the double-column type pier comprises a foundation supporting module, the foundation supporting module is composed of two foundations and a U-shaped well located between the two foundations, and the U-shaped well is covered with a well lid; the two bridge piers are mounted on the foundations in a one-to-one correspondence manner; and the energy dissipation and shock absorption assembly is mounted in the U-shaped well. According to the novel energy dissipation and shock absorption foundation structure of the double-column type pier, the well lid achieves sealing of the U-shaped well, the energy dissipation and shock absorption assembly is installed in the U-shaped well, replacement of all parts forming the energy dissipation and shock absorption assembly can be completed only by opening the well lid after an earthquake, and the maintenance cost is low.
