The invention provides a rainwater collection and utilization system and a control method thereof. The rainwater collection and utilization system comprises a collection device which comprises more than one discarding well used for collecting rainwater; the regulation and storage device comprises an impounding reservoir communicated with the water outlet of the discarding well, a backwashing device communicated with the impounding reservoir and an emptying device communicated with the impounding reservoir; the backwashing device comprises a backwashing pipeline and a driving part connected with the backwashing pipeline; the recycling device is communicated with the reservoir; the control device is electrically connected with the backwashing device, the emptying device and the recycling device; wherein the driving part is arranged to drive the backwashing pipeline to move under the control of the control device so as to wash the reservoir, and the comprehensive use performance of the rainwater collection and utilization system can be improved.
