The invention discloses an assembly type steel column connecting piece and an upper-layer and lower-layer steel column connecting structure. Wherein the connecting piece comprises a connecting section and a guide section, the lower half part of the connecting section can be inserted into the lower-layer steel column, and the upper half part of the connecting section can be inserted into the upper-layer steel column; a plurality of single-face locking bolt holes are formed in the upper half portion of the connecting section. By means of the connecting piece, butt joint of the upper-layer steel column and the lower-layer steel column can be rapidly achieved, construction butt joint of the upper-layer steel column and the lower-layer steel column can be rapidly completed only by inserting the upper-layer steel column and the connecting piece in a construction site and then fixing the upper-layer steel column and the connecting piece through a single-face locking bolt, construction is rapid and convenient, and the steel structure assembly type building period can be greatly prolonged. After the upper-layer steel column and the lower-layer steel column are connected in an inserted mode through the connecting pieces, accurate positioning of the steel columns can be achieved under constraint of the connecting pieces, the integrity of the steel structure is not affected, the connecting structure is high in strength and high in assembly precision, the requirement for the technical level of constructors is low, and standardized operation can be achieved conveniently.
