The invention relates to the technical field of mining area treatment, in particular to a method for treating a room-and-pillar goaf, which comprises the following steps: arranging a water pumping drilling position and a grouting drilling position on the room-and-pillar goaf, the grouting drilling position and the water pumping drilling position corresponding to the goaf space; punching is conducted on the water pumping drilling position and the grouting drilling position correspondingly, so that a water pumping hole and a grouting hole communicating with the goaf space are obtained; hardenable grout is injected into the goaf space through the grouting hole, and meanwhile underground water in the goaf space is pumped out through the water pumping hole; after the grout is hardened, a monitoring drilling position is arranged on the room-pillar type goaf, punching is conducted on the monitoring drilling position, a monitoring hole used for observing the grout filling rate is obtained, and the monitoring hole is communicated with the goaf space. According to the method for treating the room-and-pillar goaf, the stability of the room-and-pillar goaf can be improved, and the situation that the room-and-pillar goaf collapses is avoided.
