The invention relates to the technical field of bridge construction, in particular to a prefabricated steel-concrete composite beam and a construction method thereof. A prefabricated steel-concrete composite beam comprises a supporting section arranged on a bridge pier and comprising a first prefabricated steel beam and a first prefabricated concrete panel which are connected with each other, and a first stiffening plate is arranged on a first bottom plate of the first prefabricated steel beam close to the end part; the side span section comprises a second prefabricated steel beam and a second prefabricated concrete panel which are connected with each other, a second stiffening plate is arranged at the end, close to the supporting section, of a second bottom plate of the second prefabricated steel beam, and the second stiffening plate extends to the outer side of the second bottom plate so as to be in lap joint with the first stiffening plate; and the fastener penetrates through the supporting section, the first stiffening plate and the second stiffening plate so as to fix the supporting section and the side span section. The prefabricated steel-concrete composite beam and the construction method thereof are high in construction efficiency and small in influence on traffic or a river channel.
