The invention discloses a vertical pipe type water seal which comprises a pipe barrel (1), a water seal cavity (2), a bottom plate (3), a cover plate (4), a water inlet pipe (5) and a water outlet pipe (6), the lower end of the pipe barrel is connected with a circular bottom plate, the upper end of the pipe barrel is connected with a circular cover plate, a gap is formed between a water outlet in the lower end of the water inlet pipe and the bottom plate, and a gap is formed between a water inlet in the upper end of the water outlet pipe and the cover plate. The device is characterized in that a one-way valve plate (62) is arranged on the peripheral wall of the water outlet pipe, and the lower end of the one-way valve plate is higher than a water outlet in the lower end of the water inlet pipe; when the water pressure or the water quantity in the water seal cavity is A, water in the pipe type water seal is discharged from a water inlet in the upper end of the water outlet pipe; and when the water pressure or water volume in the water seal cavity is B greater than A, water in the pipe-shaped water seal is discharged from the water inlet at the upper end of the water outlet pipe and the one-way valve plate together.
