The side-hung lock comprises a lock shell, a lock assembly and a lock bolt, the lock bolt comprises an upper lock bolt body and a lower lock bolt body which can slide in the length direction of the lock bolt, and the upper lock bolt body and the lower lock bolt body are each provided with a locking part; the lock assembly comprises a lock cylinder, an upper locking piece and a lower locking piece, two acting parts deviating from the central axis of the lock cylinder are arranged at the bottom of the lock cylinder, and the upper locking piece and the lower locking piece are arranged in the lock shell in a sliding mode and are correspondingly provided with a first spring and a second spring; under the action of the first spring and the second spring, the upper locking piece and the lower locking piece correspondingly act on the locking parts of the upper lock bolt and the lower lock bolt, and the trend of preventing the upper lock bolt and the lower lock bolt from sliding is kept. When the lock cylinder rotates, the two acting parts of the lock cylinder correspondingly act on the upper locking piece and the lower locking piece respectively, and the upper locking piece and the lower locking piece overcome the action of the first spring and the second spring and correspondingly relieve the action on the locking parts of the upper lock bolt and the lower lock bolt respectively. The device has the advantages of being simple in structure and good enough in safety.
