The invention discloses construction equipment and method for a power transmission line iron tower foundation in a mountainous area, the construction method comprises two working conditions of drilling an anchor rod hole with the diameter of phi 90-150 mm and excavating a large-diameter base hole, and drilling of the anchor rod hole with the diameter of phi 90-150 mm is completed by directly utilizing a pneumatic down-the-hole impact hammer in the state that a drill arm is used; the large-diameter base hole excavation comprises the following steps that (1) according to the diameter requirement of an excavated foundation pit, circumferential drilling is completed through a drilling machine, and rock needing to be excavated in the middle is isolated from surrounding rock; (2) a drill arm is replaced with a mechanical arm, a breaking hammer is installed, and middle rock is broken; (3) the breaking hammer is replaced by a grab bucket, and broken stones are grabbed out; and (4) the step (2) and the step (3) are repeated until the foundation pit with the set depth is completed. When a large-diameter base hole is excavated, the workload is large, the working efficiency can be greatly improved by utilizing the equipment, and the construction safety is guaranteed.
