The method comprises the following steps: selecting a plaque region in which two plants, namely spartina alterniflora and reeds, are staggered and mixed as a treatment region of the spartina alterniflora; a cofferdam is built in the treatment area, the cofferdam comprises a cofferdam body and a notch formed in the cofferdam, a gate is installed on the notch, the gate is hinged to the cofferdam body, and the gate is arranged on the offshore side; after the cofferdam is constructed, the overground part of the spartina alterniflora in the cofferdam is cut off in the vigorous growth period before the seeds of the spartina alterniflora are mature; the cut spartina alterniflora rhizomes are turned over, and reed rhizomes are planted in the area where the spartina alterniflora is turned over. According to the method, the growth of the spartina alterniflora is effectively controlled, and the ecological benefits are improved.
