Sintered silicon nitride body, and rolling body and bearing using same
Provided are: a silicon nitride sintered body which has good mechanical properties, particularly good fracture toughness, and which has a good product life when processed into a product; a rolling body which uses the silicon nitride sintered body; and a bearing. The silicon nitride sintered body contains a rare earth element and an aluminum element, the content of the rare earth element is 6-13 wt% in terms of oxide relative to the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body, and the content of the aluminum element is 6-13 wt% in terms of oxide relative to the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body. The silicon nitride sintered body has inclusions (I) in a surface layer part, which is a region within 2 mm from the surface of the silicon nitride sintered body, and the ratio of the total cross-sectional area of the inclusions (I) to the total cross-sectional area of the surface layer part is 0.05% or more.
本发明提供机械特性、特别是断裂韧性良好、加工成产品时具有良好的产品寿命的氮化硅烧结体、使用有其的滚动体、以及轴承。氮化硅烧结体含有稀土元素和铝元素,稀土元素的含量相对于氮化硅烧结体的总重量,以氧化物换算计,为6重量%以上且13重量%以下,铝元素的含量相对于氮化硅烧结体的总重量,以氧化物换算计,为6重量%以上且13重量%以下,在氮化硅烧结体的距表面2mm以内的区域即表层部具有夹杂物(I),夹杂物(I)的总截面积相对于表层部的总截面积的比例为0.05%以上。
