To provide: a silicon nitride sintered body that has good mechanical properties, in particular fracture toughness, and has good product life when processed into a product; a rolling body using the same; and a bearing.SOLUTION: A silicon nitride sintered body includes a rare earth element and an aluminum element. A surface section, being a region within 2 mm of the surface of the silicon nitride sintered body, includes inclusions (I) and the total cross-sectional area ratio of the inclusions (I) relative to the total cross-sectional area of the surface section is 0.05% or more. The inclusion (I) includes an inclusion (It) containing a transition metal element. The inclusion (It) is a silicide of the transition metal element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
