The invention discloses a steel structure column reinforcing joint for high-rise or super high-rise reconstruction under in-situ load and a method for reinforcing the joint. Vertical rib plates are arranged in the wall thickness range of the side plates on the two sides of each face of the rectangular steel structure column. A left cross rib plate and a right cross rib plate are arranged between the left vertical rib plate and the right vertical rib plate; a left upper cover plate and a right upper cover plate are arranged on the left cross rib plate and the right cross rib plate; the two vertical rib plates on the front side plate and the rear side plate of the rectangular steel structure column are a front vertical rib plate and a rear vertical rib plate; the middle parts of the front vertical rib plate and the rear vertical rib plate are arranged corresponding to the left upper cover plate and the right upper cover plate; a front upper cover plate and a rear upper cover plate are arranged in the middle between the front cross rib plate and the rear cross rib plate; the front upper cover plate, the rear upper cover plate, the left upper cover plate and the right upper cover plate are arranged at intervals with the side plates of the corresponding rectangular steel structure columns; and a newly added beam is placed on the left upper cover plate and/or the right upper cover plate. The method can be widely applied to reinforcement and transformation of various steel structures such as airports and the like.
