The digging mechanism comprises two fixing columns connected with the movable end of the lifting mechanism, a rotating shaft is horizontally connected between the two fixing columns, one end of the rotating shaft extends to the outer side of one fixing column and is driven by a driving mechanism to rotate, the rotating shaft is sleeved with an installation wheel, and a plurality of digging cutters are evenly arranged on the installation wheel in the circumferential direction at intervals. The ecological planting device is simple in structure, convenient to operate and high in planting efficiency, a single person can independently conduct large pasture digging planting work, time and labor are saved, and the invention further provides a using method of the ecological planting device for treating stony desertification in the karst mountainous area.
