The invention relates to the technical field of building construction, in particular to a single-pile hinged type horizontal static load test device and a test method thereof.The device comprises a main beam and an auxiliary beam, the main beam is arranged on a test pile, and the auxiliary beam and the main beam are perpendicularly arranged in a crossed mode and support the main beam; the counter-force beam is arranged on one side of the test pile, a first jack is arranged on the counter-force beam, and horizontal thrust is provided for the test pile; the datum beam is arranged on the other side of the test pile and provides a displacement datum; the dial indicator is connected with the datum beam and the test pile and monitors the horizontal static load of the test pile. The vertical load is applied to the test pile, the gravity of an upper building on the pile foundation is simulated, and the horizontal static load test of the single pile under the condition can effectively reflect the horizontal stress characteristic of the pile foundation under the actual working condition.
