The invention discloses a modification method and application of dry-method machine-made sand tailings, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) enabling machine-made sand produced by a dry-method sand making process to pass through a negative-pressure powder concentrator to adsorb and remove redundant stone powder in the machine-made sand to obtain the machine-made sand tailings; (2) drying the machine-made sand tailings until the water content of the machine-made sand tailings is less than 1.0%; (3) carrying out mechanical grinding until the fineness of 45 microns is lower than 30%; and (4) adding silica fume, continuing mechanical grinding, and uniformly mixing to obtain the modified machine-made sand tailings. The prepared modified machine-made sand tailing limestone powder is good in activity, the modified machine-made sand tailing limestone powder is added into cement concrete as a mineral admixture to replace part of fly ash, the cement consumption is reduced, and the prepared concrete is large in flowability, high in compactness and excellent in durability.
