The invention provides a profile steel supporting structure for trench excavation and a construction method, the profile steel supporting structure for trench excavation comprises channel steel pile structures arranged on the two sides of a trench to be excavated, and each channel steel pile structure is composed of forward channel steel and reverse channel steel which are alternately driven in a forward and reverse sleeving mode; purlin structures arranged in the length direction of the groove to be dug are fixed to the inner side walls of the forward channel steel and the reverse channel steel which are located on the same side and arranged in rows, and a plurality of sets of horizontally-arranged internal supports are arranged between the purlin structures at equal intervals. The supporting structure can form an overall supporting system, and the integrity, stability and sliding resistance of supporting are guaranteed; and the anti-overturning capability is enhanced, and a safe construction environment can be provided for trench excavation.
