The invention provides an automatic water replenishing and draining method and system.The system comprises a control module, a water draining pump and a water replenishing valve, the system is connected with an evaporation dish, and the control module is connected with an evaporation sensor; a water inlet end of the draining pump is connected to an overflow port of the evaporating dish, a water outlet end of the water replenishing valve is connected to the overflow port of the evaporating dish, and a first water level in the evaporating dish and a water level measurement upper limit and a water level measurement lower limit of the evaporation sensor are obtained firstly; when the first water level is higher than a water level measurement upper limit, controlling a drainage pump to perform drainage operation on the evaporating dish; when the first water level is lower than the water level measurement lower limit, a water replenishing valve is controlled to perform water replenishing operation on the evaporation dish, so that the integrity and accuracy of evaporation observation data are ensured, the application scene of a large evaporation sensor is expanded, the manual maintenance cost is reduced, and all-weather safe, reliable, maintenance-free and automatic large evaporation observation is realized.
