The invention discloses a suffocation type fire extinguishing device for tunnel fire prevention and a fireproof material, the suffocation type fire extinguishing device comprises a fireproof roller shutter assembly, a plurality of fixing frames, a circulating water curtain assembly and a fire detection assembly, the fixing frames are uniformly distributed in a tunnel, and the fireproof roller shutter assembly and the circulating water curtain assembly are arranged on the fixing frames; a water curtain formed in the circulating water curtain assembly uniformly covers the fireproof roller shutter assembly, and the control end of the fireproof roller shutter assembly and the control end of the circulating water curtain assembly are electrically connected with the control signal output end of the fire detection assembly. Compared with the prior art, a fire area in a tunnel is isolated from external oxygen, fire is extinguished in a suffocation mode, meanwhile, the fireproof roller shutter is formed by compounding multiple fireproof materials, the heat insulation and high temperature resistance effects of the fireproof roller shutter are enhanced, and meanwhile the light weight and flexibility of the fireproof roller shutter are kept.
