The invention provides a gate side water stop device and a gate, the gate side water stop device comprises a water stop piece and a pressing device, the water stop piece is pressed by the pressing device to block a gap formed by a gate edge and a gate leaf, and the water stop piece is in non-fixed contact with the pressing device, the gate edge and the gate leaf; the pressing device comprises a pull rod, a swinging pressing rod and a rotating shaft; one end of the swing pressing rod is rotatably and slidably connected with the pull rod, and the other end of the swing pressing rod abuts against the water stop piece. The pull rod can drive the swing pressing rod to rotate around the rotating shaft under the action of external force, and therefore the pressing force applied to the water stop piece by the swing pressing rod is adjusted. In the invention, the water stop piece is in non-fixed contact with the pressing device, the gate leaf and the gate edge, so that the water stop piece is easy to disassemble, assemble and replace; and the pressing force applied to the water stop piece can be adjusted in the mode that the pull rod drives the swing pressing rod to swing, the compression amount of the water stop piece is adjustable, and operation is very convenient and fast.
