The viscosity reduction type polycarboxylate superplasticizer is obtained by carrying out an amide/imidization reaction on a compound A and a compound B to obtain an intermediate C, and then carrying out a copolymerization reaction on the intermediate C, a monomer D, a monomer E and a monomer F, the compound A is amino polyether, and the compound B is sulfydryl-containing carboxylic acid; the monomer D is unsaturated carboxylic acid, the monomer E is a polymerizable sulfonic acid group monomer, and the monomer F is a polymerizable phosphonic acid group monomer. The viscosity reduction type polycarboxylate superplasticizer product prepared by the invention has the advantages of low mixing amount, high water-reducing rate, small slump loss and the like, and particularly, the viscosity of slurry is obviously reduced when the water-binder ratio is low. The method provided by the invention has the advantages of simple synthesis method, high yield, low process requirement, low production cost and small environmental pollution.
