The invention discloses a post-welding working edge grinding method for a side-ground steel rail thermit welding head, which is characterized in that for two to-be-welded steel rails, a rail with relatively light side grinding degree or a new rail is a rail 1, a rail with relatively serious side grinding degree is a rail 2, and the rail 1 and the rail 2 are aligned by adopting a non-working edge alignment mode before thermit welding; the method comprises the following steps: I, measuring the arching amount of one side of a non-working edge of a rail 1; iI, determining the grinding length and depth of the working edge of the rail 1; iII, grinding a joint and a near-end steel rail of the rail 1; iV, polishing a steel rail at the far end of the rail 1; v, determining the grinding effect of the rail 1; and VI, polishing the working edge of the rail 2. In order to facilitate on-site first-aid repair, the invention further provides a side grinding steel rail working edge grinding quick look-up table. According to the method, post-welding working edge grinding data support is provided for the thermit welding joint under different side grinding conditions, and the method has important significance in reducing the operation difficulty, standardizing field operation, improving the post-welding joint quality and improving the smoothness of the steel rail working edge.
