The invention relates to a method for producing calcium silicate hydrates under hydrothermal conditions, in which an organic compound is added in at least one method step, the molecular weight of the organic compound being 100 to 600 g/mol, and the organic compound having 0.02 to 0.035 functional groups per gram, the functional groups being selected from-OH,-COOH,-COOMa,-SO3H or-SO3Ma or-C (= O) H, wherein M is hydrogen, a monovalent, divalent or trivalent metal cation, an ammonium ion or an organic amine group, and a is 1/3, 1/2 or 1. The invention further relates to calcium silicate hydrates which can be produced according to the method according to the invention and to the use thereof as curing accelerators for hydraulic binders.
