The invention discloses a data acquisition and detection system for sundries at a water inlet of a hydraulic engineering hydropower station. The system comprises an image acquisition device, a data processing device and a sundries collection device, the image acquisition device is used for acquiring a plurality of images at the water inlet of the hydraulic engineering hydropower station; carrying out initial image judgment on the plurality of images to obtain suspicious sundry images in the plurality of images; the data processing device is used for receiving the suspicious sundry image sent by the image acquisition device and inputting the suspicious sundry image into a pre-trained convolutional neural network model to obtain an image category output by the convolutional neural network model; sending a sundry collection instruction to a sundry collection device in response to determining that the image category is a sundry category; and the impurity collecting device is used for intercepting corresponding impurities. According to the method, the determination efficiency and the determination accuracy of the sundries at the water inlet of the hydraulic engineering hydropower station can be improved, so that the probability of abnormal power supply is reduced.
