The invention provides an environment-friendly low-carbon aluminum-magnesium spinel brick and a preparation method thereof. The environment-friendly low-carbon aluminum-magnesium spinel brick is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 1 to 4 parts of composite graphitized carbon black, 50 to 65 parts of sub-white corundum, 10 to 25 parts of fused white corundum, 5 to 7.5 parts of fused magnesia, 1 to 2.5 parts of corundum fine powder, 0.5 to 3 parts of spinel fine powder, 3 to 6 parts of active alpha-alumina micro powder, 3 to 5.5 parts of fused magnesia powder, 3.5 to 5.5 parts of composite binding agent and 2.5 to 3.5 parts of additive, wherein the composite graphitized carbon black is less than or equal to 0.05; the sub-white corundum particles are less than or equal to 5; less than or equal to 3 of fused white corundum; fused magnesite < = 2; 1-2.5 parts of corundum fine powder < = 3; spinel fine powder < = 1; and less than or equal to 2 of fused magnesite powder. According to the environment-friendly low-carbon aluminum-magnesium spinel brick and the preparation method thereof provided by the invention, phenolic resin is not adopted, so that harmful gas cannot be generated to pollute the environment during heating, and the service life of the low-carbon magnesia carbon brick combined by the composite binding agent is twice that of a traditional magnesia-chrome brick.
