The invention discloses a method for transforming a vertical seam type fishway into a movable partition plate type fishway. The method comprises the steps that a, a fish inlet extends downstream; b) rebuilding a fish outlet into a transverse opening gate; c) energy dissipation baffles capable of being automatically controlled are additionally arranged between the pond chambers; when the defect of the original fishway is caused by the change of the upstream and downstream water levels, two reconstructions of a) extending the fish inlet to the downstream and b) reconstructing the fish outlet into a transverse opening gate are required to be carried out; when the defect of the original fishway is that a new low-swimming-speed fish passing type appears, improvement is carried out by adopting a method of adding an automatically-controlled energy dissipation baffle between pond chambers c); when an original fishway has the two problems at the same time, the method a), the method b) and the method c) are adopted for improvement at the same time. The method has the beneficial effects that the method for transforming the vertical seam type fishway is provided; a modification design method and a new body form of a fishway outlet; a modification method of a fishway entrance; the method and the body form play an important role in improving the fish passing efficiency.
