The invention relates to a construction method for lifting a beam on a gantry crane beam, which comprises the following steps of: arranging a beam lifting station in an area suitable for vehicles to pass under a bridge, and transporting a precast beam from a beam field to the lower part of the bridge by using a beam transporting vehicle; two-span continuous bridge piers are selected in a girder lifting station area, erection of two-span precast girders is completed through a truck crane, and two-span bridge floors serve as girder lifting platforms of the bridge girder erection machine; gantry crane rail foundations are poured on the two bridges, gantry cranes are installed, and the precast beams under the bridges are lifted to the bridges from the gap between the two bridges through the gantry cranes so that the bridge erecting machine can lift the beams and install the beams. The problem that the bridge head cannot transport the beam can be solved, the gantry crane is arranged on the bridge and is not limited by the pier height, and the construction safety of the gantry crane can be guaranteed.
