The invention discloses a multi-direction walking construction method for a gantry crane. The method comprises the steps of constructing a track foundation structure; an assembling track and a running track which are perpendicular to each other and have one ends connected are laid; walking wheels are placed on the assembly rails; supporting legs are mounted at the tops of the walking wheels; the main beam is erected at the upper ends of the two supporting legs; and the gantry crane is pushed to the crossed connecting position of the assembling track and the running track through the walking wheels, the lower structures of the walking wheels are rotated by 90 degrees, and then the lower ends of the walking wheels are placed on the running track. The multi-direction walking construction method for the gantry crane has the following beneficial effects that the assembling efficiency of the gantry crane is effectively guaranteed, the construction period is shortened, the construction cost can be reduced, and the influence period and risks on a high-speed rail line can be reduced to a certain extent.
