The invention discloses a building roof system which comprises a driving device and a plurality of green roof modules used for water storage and drainage and planting of plants, and the green roof modules are arranged according to a matrix. Wherein each green roof module comprises a planting groove, drainage grooves and rotating plates, the drainage grooves are formed in the left side and the right side of the planting groove, the left rotating plate is arranged between the planting groove and the left drainage groove, the right rotating plate is arranged between the planting groove and the right drainage groove, and the left rotating plate and the right rotating plate can rotate relative to the planting groove; according to the building roof system, rainwater can be normally stored to irrigate the vegetation layer, water can be rapidly drained when the rainwater amount is large, waterlogging and oxygen deficit caused by the fact that the vegetation layer is soaked in water are avoided, and the vegetation layer can be protected in rainstorm days.
