The invention relates to the technical field of highway traffic control, in particular to a traffic control device for a highway bridge and a using method thereof.The traffic control device comprises a middle frame, a locking piece is installed on the lower end face of the middle frame through bolts, an arch-shaped frame is fixedly installed below the locking piece, and H-shaped plates making contact with the ground are arranged on the two sides below the arch-shaped frame; an electric sliding block is started to drive a sliding plate to move forwards in a moving groove so as to drive a telescopic piece to move forwards, when the telescopic piece moves forwards, a driven wedge block is pushed through a driving wedge block, and due to the fact that the driven wedge block is fixedly connected with a front side frame, the driving wedge block slides down when pushing the driven wedge block to achieve downward movement of a pushing piece; an electric sliding block is started to drive a rotating rod to rotate, when the rotating rod rotates, a lifting wheel is driven to rotate, and a toothed plate slides up and down in an inner side groove so as to drive the whole arch frame to ascend, so that the height limiting requirements of different intersections or bridges can be met.
