The invention discloses a main cable maintenance robot for a suspension bridge, which comprises a rack, a rotor wing, a first maintenance device and a second maintenance device, and is characterized in that the rotor wing is arranged on the rack; the first overhauling device is arranged on the rack, and the first overhauling device is used for being located on the upper side of a main cable and used for overhauling the main cable; and the second overhauling devices are arranged on the rack, the at least two second overhauling devices are used for being located on the two sides of the main cable respectively, and the second overhauling devices are used for overhauling the main cable. Compared with the prior art that a crane is adopted to place the main cable maintenance robot on the main cable of the suspension bridge, the main cable maintenance robot can automatically fly to the main cable of the suspension bridge by arranging the rotor wings, the situation that a road is sealed due to the use of the crane is avoided, and then smooth traffic is guaranteed; the invention further provides a main cable overhaul system which comprises the maintenance station and the main cable overhaul robot, and all-weather detection of the main cable of the suspension bridge can be achieved by arranging the maintenance station.
