The invention relates to a traffic technology for guiding motor vehicles to pass through an urban crossroad, in particular to a passing method for replacing straight movement and left turning with unconventional double-U-shaped turning at the crossroad. All the vehicles passing through the intersection are forbidden to go straight and turn left, right turning is executed, the original straight movement of the vehicles is achieved through one-time right-turning U-shaped turning, and left turning is completed through two-time continuous right-turning U-shaped turning. A pedestrian safety island is arranged at the center of an existing intersection, the safety island is in a cross shape, and a U-turn waiting area and U-turn parking spaces are arranged on the extension line of the cross-shaped safety island. Pedestrian crosswalks crossing the width of the two lanes are arranged and connected with the cross-shaped pedestrian safety island and the roadside, and the cross-shaped pedestrian safety island and the four pedestrian crosswalks are distributed in the shape of a Chinese character'wan '.
