The invention relates to the technical field of filling materials, in particular to a mine filling material and a preparation method thereof. The filling material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 6 to 20 parts of cement, 3 to 6 parts of silica powder, 2 to 5 parts of fly ash, 58 to 75 parts of mixed material, 1.2 to 1.8 parts of polypropylene fiber, 2.5 to 3.0 parts of bentonite, 3.0 to 3.5 parts of citrate gypsum, 1.0 to 1.5 parts of anhydrous sodium sulfate, 0.8 to 1.5 parts of water reducing agent and 5 to 8 parts of water; the self-made water reducing agent is used as a raw material for preparing the filling material for the mine, so that the flowing property and the pumping property of the filling material can be effectively improved, and the working performance of the filling material is improved; moreover, silica powder, fly ash and the like are used as raw materials, so that the flowability and workability of the filling slurry are further improved, and the quality of the prepared filling material for the mine is effectively ensured.
