The invention discloses a fishway structure and a using method thereof.The fishway structure comprises a dam lower section, a dam passing section and an on-dam reservoir inner section, the dam lower section, the dam passing section and the on-dam reservoir inner section are sequentially communicated and form a fishway, the dam lower section is provided with a plurality of fish inlets located at different water level elevations, and the outlet end of the on-dam reservoir inner section is connected with a fish lifting tower; the fish lifting tower is used for adjusting the water level change of the fish collecting pond in the fish lifting tower, so that the water level of the fish collecting pond is smoothly connected with the water level of the upstream reservoir, and fishes enter the upstream reservoir from the fish lifting tower. The fish inlets with different elevations are formed in the fishway inlet section to meet the fish luring condition, fishes can enter the fishway, the fishes climb and migrate to the bottom of a dam upstream reservoir through the spiral fishway, and the fish lifting tower is designed according to the principle of a ship lift. The water level in the fish lifting tower is controlled to be freely connected with any water level in the upstream reservoir, so that fishes can freely pass through the dam, and the purpose of protecting the breeding of the fishes in the river channel is achieved.
