The invention relates to a box type transverse plate supporting device, and relates to the technical field of supporting structures. The supporting device comprises two supporting plates. The two supporting plates abut against the two opposite side walls of the groove respectively, connecting assemblies are arranged on the two supporting plates, a mounting frame is vertically arranged in the groove and located on the central axis of the groove, a driving assembly is arranged in the center of the mounting frame and can rotate on the mounting frame, and the driving assembly is connected with the supporting plates. The end, away from the supporting plate, of the connecting assembly is connected with the driving assembly. The connecting assembly can drive the supporting plate to move in the direction close to or away from the mounting frame. In other words, during installation, the driving assemblies are rotated, the connecting assemblies drive the supporting plates to move to be parallel to the side walls of the groove, then the two connecting assemblies are driven to move in the direction away from the installation frame at the same time, and therefore the supporting plates abut against the corresponding side walls of the groove, and supporting of the groove is achieved. The supporting device has the effect that the operation of abutting the supporting plate against the side wall of the groove is convenient and fast.
